I watch as the darkness hovers over her
And her once contagious smile turn upside down.
I could see into her dreadful eyes, what seemed
To be an enchanted forest losing its green intensity
As the dark gloomy clouds brood over.
Tears stream down her face as the distressing
Forest becomes flooded by the monstrous storm.
The emotions of guilt, tragedy, love, trust and anticipation
Step on her as if she’s a lost newborn kitten laying
Amidst in the middle of a busy road.
This all seems familiar, I tell myself.
“She does not deserve this, perhaps company will
Escort her from this hell-like state.”
I grab her dry pale hand and say,
“I know what it’s like to be afraid of your own mind,
You are not what you think you are, trust me.”
I watch as her big dark pupils stare into me.
Her state of confusion bedazzled me as I remembered
The cold feeling of wanting to die myself,
A few years ago.
The haunting sound of the splashing water as it hits the
Bases of rocks along the beach shore, meters away.
The mystifying image of myself looking into the calm waters
Beneath the rusty bridge, standing petrified as I can remember.
I wipe her tears while holding her hand,
Her hand feeling quite warmer than moments ago.
I watch her once pessimistic face get
Enlightened by a prominent dimple.
Her eyes begin to shine.
The once compassionless forest awakened by the beautiful
Singing birds and a glow of the evergreen color.
Sometimes, all you need is just someone to brighten your heart.
