Every day of our lives includes us seeing, feeling, smelling and hearing many different things. These either make us feel comfortable or cause discomfort; but what do we prefer the most? Wouldn’t it be something calming and peaceful, like music?
Music is a universal language that connects everyone. It is a friend and a supporting companion that affects our mood. We are all unique and have our own ways of listening to music. Some play music by using musical instruments and some listen to music on phones, computers or mp3 players. Music helps to improve and boost our mood and gives us motivation.
We all have crazy things running about in our head. Our mind is like an ocean and the waves are our emotions. We feel angry and sad, but we also feel happy. Many of us overthink and it weakens us, making us feel useless and lose your self-worth. It could be due to the fear of the future, but believe me your future is nothing that you expect. It is far better than what we think or imagine, and mind you, it hasn’t arrived yet! Next comes the fear of being trapped in a situation. Mainly due to studies. Nowadays we are challenged to learn everything within a short period of time. For an example, it took many, many years for Albert Einstein to conclude E=mc² but we are expected to learn the theories within days! It is not that it is impossible but the process carries weight and stress.
So, in times like these just sit back, relax and listen to your favourite music. You will be left feeling energized and motivated. It would without a doubt help you greatly in your studies. Emotions can change your physical behavior. When we look at emotions as waves, listening to music calms the rough and angry waves! Classical music is a great option. This is not the only music that can help you. The sounds of nature are equally calming. Imagine the sounds of the wind, the tapping of the rain and birds singing in your mind. It will leave you relaxed. The reason behind this is the musical notes hitting your eardrum and the brain recognizing it and releasing a chemical called Dopamine which makes you feel happy and full of pleasure. Listening to music makes you dance without your knowledge.
Finally, always be in control of your emotions and forget the minute things. Break the old cycle of thoughts, learn to play a musical instrument or learn the lyrics of your favourite songs and sing it in your mind while studying or doing other activities that help you fall in love with your work. Remember that when you are angry, you age fast, but music can make you feel young!
