SILENT TEARS

Updated: Jul 29, 2019

She walked into the dark woods

The moment the streetlights switched off

She heard the night owls howl

She saw the tree leaves wave

Wrapped herself with a cotton jumper

Starred at her faded snickers

Recalled every moment she lived

Her feet dragged her along

The dried leaves crushed by her feet

She heard no noise as she was about to leave

She sat down on the broken wooden bench

A shiver of loneliness ran down her knees

She opened her notepad

Took out a pen

Tears rolled down her cheek

Nightmares ruling her brain

It faded away slowly silently

The moonlight dimmed for a long moment

The water in the lake turned back smoother

She drowned deep down into the waters….
