GAMERS ABOARD!

Entertainment is a part of our everyday life, we engage in various activities in order to pass time leisurely. Video games have been on the rise since early 90’s as a major form of recreation. Whereas most individuals play games for fun cause,

“It’s just a game!”.

But there are some that take it further and make careers out of what they love doing most. And some take it even further taking it to a competitive level and fight fang and claws to claim victory, glory and of course the well-deserved monetary prize.

This was a major event with over 100 participants battling it out for the crown over three games, Call of Duty, Player unknown battlegrounds and FIFA. The E-Sports tournament took place on the 30th of November 2019 at Game Edge eSports at Kohuwalla, Srilanka. The tournament boasted a 45,000 Rs prize pool.

Every major event has sponsors, this competition was graciously sponsored by SLT as the Internet partner and Maximum E-Sports as the strategic partner.

Over the course of the day many teams of five clashed against each other in COD death matches pitching metal against metal. PUBG teams fought pan and gun to lay claim to their crown. With multiple solo players duking it out in 1v1 matches in FIFA.

As the day approached its climax with the finalists being chosen, Maximum E-Sports – Team iMax became the champions of the Call of Duty tournament. PUBG mobile tournament had PnX / ISSL taking the first place. Finally in the FIFA tournament Shaibaan Waheed claimed victory for himself after a number of tough matches stood at the top of the other contenders.

All these individuals that emerged at the finish line and took the crown for themselves from over a hundred participants claimed a hefty cash prize to take back home. With that the tournament came to a close ending a day of mind-blowing defeats and hard earned victorious.
